State of the Art Skin Cancer Treatment in the Philadelphia Suburbs

Michael S. Lehrer, MD, grew up on the Main Line.  He attended Penn Wynne Elementary School, Bala Cynwyd Middle School, and Lower Merion High School, where he graduated first in his class.  He then attended the Ivy League Brown University and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Dr. Lehrer then returned to the Philadelphia area to the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  There, he was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society in his Junior year, an honor reserved for the top five students in each class.

Following medical school, Dr. Lehrer continued his training at the University of Pennsylvania.  He completed an internship in Internal Medicine, a residency in Dermatology, and a fellowship in Skin Cancer.  He then remained on faculty, directing the resident surgical clinic.

Finally, Dr. Lehrer completed an extensive fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Procedural Dermatology, and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Lehrer is the author of numerous scientific publications and text book chapters on skin cancer and wound reconstruction.  He has been featured in dermatology trade journals, in popular magazines, and on television.  He actively lectures on dermatologic surgery at both regional and national meetings.

Today, Dr. Lehrer continues to live and work in the Philadelphia area.  While he has moved into private practice, he remains on the volunteer teaching faculty at the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Lehrer limits his practice to surgery of the skin.
